As an art student, I feel while it would be very useful to go to an art school for a photography education, it really is wise to explore before making that decision. Many times you think you know the major you really want to pursue. Then, as you learn from other classes and become exposed to multiple different forms of art, your passion may eventually change. 

So, don’t set yourself up thinking that you are going to go into a specific major for sure because you may change your thought after taking courses that might interest you more than photography. 

I personally would want to be able to do so much more than just photography, even if photography might be at the end one of the major mediums that I may eventually use.
